After her top twenty success with 'The Show', producers tried to mould Rebecca into the similar sound of other chart artists at the time.. In 1986 Rebecca released a single on the record label Spirit, called 'The Wrong Girl' produced by hitmaker Ben Findon, who had many hits with The Dooleys, Billy Ocean and The Nolans.. However Rebecca hated the record and the promotion for it.. Listening to the A side, you would hardly recognise her distinctive voice, as it was over produced..The flip side entitled, 'Swansong', is more to her natural sound.. Unlike 'The Show' , the record was not a success.. Here is a look at the sleeve for it..Rebecca looks a little like Barbara Dickson in this shot! ....

EVENT FLASHBACK : THAT'S SHOWBIZ.. GRAND THEATRE BLACKPOOL.. 1995..
Before becoming Ireland's first lady of musical theatre, Rebecca spent her time threading the boards in the UK, either in top West End shows or appearing in the various seasonal offerings in entertainment spots such as Blackpool.. In 1995 from June to November, Rebecca appeared on the bill of a variety show, playing at Blackpool's lovely Grand Theatre, called 'That's Showbiz', headlined by comedy star Joe Pasquale, and featuring Scotish comedian/singer Allan Stewart, Neighbour's stars and PWL recording artist's Blakeney Twins, Andy Prior and his 13 piece band and illusionist Russ Stevens with The Nicky Hooper Dancers... You can see the running order below as well as the programme for the show, which has been signed by Rebecca...
