West End Star Rebecca Storm to attend Ladies wear Red Lunch
The West End Star Rebecca Storm will be in Cork on Friday August 15th for the annual lunch ‘Ladies Wear Red for Straight Ahead’ which is a Crumlin Hospital charity event organised each year by Angie Benhaffaf, the mother of Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf. Hassan has benefitted from the Straight Ahead surgery performed by the charity. The annual lunch takes place in the Maryborough Hotel and will be an amazing day with great company, entertainment, food and prizes. The Most Stylish Lady in Red on the day will be judged by celebrity couple Dr. Gerald Kean and Lisa Murphy.
The organiser of the lunch, Angie Benhaffaf said “I am delighted that Rebecca Storm has accepted my invitation to attend the lunch this year. She is an amazing star and loved all over the world for her Blood Brothers musical and other achievements and it is a great honour for us in Straight Ahead that Rebecca will attend. The charity was founded in 2011 by Cork man Dr. Pat Kiely and is run on an entirely voluntary basis and performs major orthopaedic operations for children on HSE waiting lists and in urgent need of surgery. It will be a fantastic day of entertainment and prizes and well worth attending.”
Dr. Gerald Kean who will join the charity lunch for the first time this year said “When Lisa and I heard of the truly amazing and life saving operations and care that the medical teams in Straight Ahead give to children on HSE waiting lists, we just had to get involved and help. The medical and care teams are an amazing group of people who give of their time voluntarily and the fundraising people associated with the charity are like so many other people in Ireland – truly amazing people.”
The event is supported and sponsored by many companies and people and Hi magazine is featuring Rebecca Storm on its cover of the August edition and supporting the lunch. The Irish Soprano Majella Cullagh will also perform on the day and there will be prizes and gifts galore. Tickets for the lunch are available from Angela at 021 5003050 or angela.campion@no1.ie and are priced at €60 each for the amazing lunch and day of entertainment.
